(4204) Static level, or Hydrostatic level
Level of water at a given point in an aquifer is the level of the top of a column of water that can be supported by the hydrostatic pressure of the water at the point; when specifically applied to wells, it is the water level in a non-pumping well outside the area of influence of any pumping well.
